Location: Meadville, PA
Pay Rate: $55–$65/hour
Duration: 3–6 month assignment
Per Diem: $174/day, 7 days/week


System One is hiring! We’re seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to support our client site in Meadville, PA.

About the Role:
This contract opportunity is perfect for a Mechanical Engineer with strong industrial experience looking to contribute to impactful projects in the glass and heavy industrial sectors. You’ll support a range of mechanical and piping engineering tasks, collaborating with cross-functional teams while taking ownership of scopes, schedules, and technical deliverables.


Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and execute mechanical and piping engineering tasks
• Develop technical specifications, bid packages, and evaluations
• Create and manage schedules, estimates, and manpower forecasts
• Prepare scopes of work and construction work packages (CWPs)
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and other disciplines
• Review vendor data and perform discipline squad checks
• Support permitting, procurement, and subcontract documentation
• Assist in developing internal systems for improved project delivery
• Provide general support to the Mechanical Engineering discipline
• Perform other duties as assigned



Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 4–9 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Site experience in glass or heavy industrial environments
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience with equipment design and conveyor systems
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Project)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Client-facing experience strongly preferred
