Job Description

About us:

TMB (Trusted Media Brands) is a community-driven entertainment company that produces content inspired and created by our fans. We offer best-in-class insights and data-driven marketing solutions that reach engaged communities passionate about food, home, lifestyle and wellness; and now following our August 2021 acquisition of Jukin Media, a leading digital entertainment company, we also engage audiences across the pets, humor, and active lifestyle verticals. In all, we reach nearly 60 million people in the U.S., and deliver more than two billion minutes of monthly video viewership across streaming TV and social media. See what’s new at FailArmy, Taste of Home, The Pet Collective, Family Handyman, People Are Awesome, Reader’s Digest, The Healthy and Birds & Blooms.

About the role:

Reporting to the Trends Senior Editor, the Trends Writer pitches, writes and edits newsworthy food and culture stories daily that engage our loyal Taste of Home readers while also attracting new audiences across platforms. This writer stays on top of viral content and food news, pitching and producing on-brand articles that anticipate readers’ interests. The ability to generate ideas and turn in clean copy quickly is key.

About you:

You never run out of ideas for fun and inspiring content for people who love to cook, entertain, and stay on top of what’s happening in the food world. You enjoy brainstorming and collaborating with a team, then taking the ideas and running with them to produce engaging, informative, well-written articles. You have a strong voice that you can adapt to Taste of Home’s conversational, friendly style. You come to meetings with thoughtful pitches and are prepared to be flexible with day-to-day assignments.

Your day-to-day:
  • You bring ideas to regular pitch meetings and brainstorm with the team
  • You write smart, engaging articles and listicles about food news, food-related curiosities, celebrity recipes, viral trends and other timely topics
  • You review freelancers’ submissions, communicating with freelance writers and staff editors to help prepare content for publication
  • You tackle assignments from the Senior Editor and work on multiple projects simultaneously
You have:
  • 3+ years of writing experience in digital media/publishing; experience in food writing is ideal
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or a related field is preferred
  • Working knowledge of AP style and solid communication and multitasking skills
  • Experience working in a CMS such as WordPress. Knowledge of other content production tools like Airtable and SEMrush is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team
  • Keen interest in the food and lifestyle space; experience in creating videos for social is a plus
About this team:

Our team is high-performing, goal-focused, fast-paced, dynamic and flexible to stretch and move with trends and business growth needs. This role and team are highly collaborative, working seamlessly with other teams around the business. The team also has a fun and friendly culture, which has helped all flourish while working from home.

Our benefits:

We value our people and offer a collaborative and engaging culture. As a TMB employee, you will enjoy work/life balance, generous time off and comprehensive benefits and programs. Learn more about what life is like working at TMB at
